POSITION SUMMARY The Teacher Interventionist – Reading Language Arts and Mathematics works with students to help them improve specific reading and math skills facilitating the academic success of students through comprehensive assessment, targeted intervention, and collaborative support. This position encompasses various key responsibilities aimed at identifying students' academic needs, providing tailored instruction, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and promoting continuous improvement through data-driven practices. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Administer reading and math assessments to identify, monitor, and track students' strengths and areas of need.
  • Analyze assessment data to develop individualized intervention plans for students.
  • Provide targeted instruction to small groups or individual students based on their specific needs in reading and math.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans that align with students' learning goals and academic standards.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student learning and growth.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other stakeholders to coordinate interventions and support services for students.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians and communicate regularly regarding students' progress, intervention strategies, and recommendations for at-home support.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance intervention practices and pedagogy.
  • Keep detailed records of interventions, assessments, and student progress.
  • Generate progress reports and share updates with relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Adjust intervention plans based on ongoing assessment data and student performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of interventions, including lesson plans, progress notes, and intervention logs.
  • Compile data and evidence of student growth to demonstrate the effectiveness of interventions and inform decision-making processes.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners, students with disabilities, and advanced learners.
  • Align intervention activities and instruction with the school or district curriculum standards and instructional goals.
  • All other duties as assigned. OHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard, smart board and other classroom technology.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, including but not limited to books, paper, and instructional materials/supplies.
  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, and/or the ability to be mobile.
  • Ability to travel throughout the district and city as needed by means of personal/private or public transportation in compliance with the state's department of motor vehicle and/or public transportation laws. EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
